Delegates, Threads & Events

Dictionary.com defines a delegate as:

  1. A person authorized to act as representative for another; a deputy or an agent.
  2. A representative to a conference or convention.

If they send a delegate to the RI .Net User Group on Sept. 3 they may want to add another definition.

  1. In VB .Net a delegate is an object that can store the address of a subroutine or function.
