Bill HeysBuilding Mobile Solutions Using .Net

This session delves into the implementation of an ASP.NET Web Application that will be accessed by users with mobile devices like Internet-enabled phones or PDAs. We'll discover how the Microsoft Mobile Internet Toolkit alleviates many of the concerns currently present in Mobile Development. The Mobile Internet Toolkit includes controls that generate device specific content, and UI elements that can leverage the same database access code (ADO.NET) as Windows Forms and Web Forms applications. We'll see how to make use of automatic pagination options for devices with limited memory and screen size. The session will also dig into more advanced topics like extending the Mobile framework to support new devices as they appear on the market.

Think you'll never have to develop a mobile application? Think again. Even if you don't... you won't want to miss this unique presentation on how it's done.

Bill will cover:

  • Differences between Web Forms and Mobile Forms development.
  • How to build a Mobile Application using Mobile Forms.
  • How to utilize pagination and other methods to deliver device specific content.
